A referral from your GP is optional. Physiotherapists are Primary Healthcare Practitioners so no Dr’s referral is required unless the following situations apply:
- You are a DVA card holder and you want to claim your treatment through DVA
- You are claiming your injury through WorkCover or other third party payers. In this case you should have a claim number and a Worker’s Compensation Certificate
What do I need to wear/bring?
It is best to wear loose, comfortable clothing. You may need to remove some items of clothing. In this case, we can provide you with shorts and/or a gown.
If you have any letters or scans regarding your injury, please bring them for your first consult.
Can I claim through Medicare?
Unfortunately private physiotherapy is not covered by Medicare. However, you can speak to your GP to see whether or not you are eligible for a physiotherapy management program that can be subsidised through Medicare.
Can I claim through my private health fund?
Physiotherapy may be claimable through your private health insurance. It is best to check with your insurer regarding your level of cover. If covered, we can process your claim on the spot through our HiCAPs facilities.
Do you treat patients under Work Cover or Compulsory Third Party (CTP) claims?
Yes, with a doctor’s referral and provided we have all the appropriate paperwork such as your insurer and claim number. All of our physiotherapists have undergone extra training to ensure we are Work Cover accredited.
Do you treat patients under Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA)?
Yes, with a doctor’s referral. Your treatments will be bulk billed and require no upfront payment provided we have all the appropriate paperwork.
